After a large emergency (e.g., wildland fire, earthquake, flood), a number of chemical, physical, and biological hazards may be present during cultural monitoring, clean up, and removal activities. The HAZWOPER course trains personnel to work safely and effectively in those situations.
COURSE IS FOR GOVERNMENT ONLY
This course is for Tribal Government; County, City and State Environmental Health Departments, Public Works, Local Enforcement Agencies (Solid Waste), US and CA Fish and Wildlife, Drinking Water and Regional Water Quality, Fire, Safety Engineer, CalRecycle, and Emergency Management personnel that may work in the field following an emergency.

Participating agencies must provide medical clearance to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and wear respiratory protection. Agencies must also provide their written Safety and Health Program Plan pursuant to 29 CFR 1910.120(b)(1). (Information will be sent to persons who register for the training.)
