This 2-hour course allows participants to learn strategies to identify and prevent potential post-construction pitfalls entirely or address them when they arise.
Course objectives include learning to:
- Plan more effectively for post construction completion activities;
- Operate within the limitations CERCLA and the NCP place on EPA’s work during post construction;
- Successfully manage the transition of Fund-lead remedies to the state for operation and maintenance; and
- Fulfill EPA’s oversight responsibilities for any remedy in post construction.
The training is most relevant to Fund-lead remedies but also has important lessons for PRP-lead and special account-funded remedies. Since post construction policy includes some nuances that RPMs might encounter only once or twice in their careers, the course is recommended for RPMs and site managers of all experience levels.
The course is open to EPA, state and tribal representatives.
