CEC Presents...HQ Support Lines are hour-long live online sessions hosted by the CERCLA Education Center. The sessions will have presentations from EPA headquarters staff who have lines of support to regional Superfund staff. The goal of these virtual sessions is to spread awareness of services, demo any tools developed, and advertise their teams' capabilities.

As prescribed under 40 CFR 300.145 (b), Special Teams, the Environmental Response Team (ERT) provides EPA regional and headquarters offices, federal, state, local agencies, and foreign governments with experienced technical and logistical assistance in responding to environmental emergencies, such as oil or hazardous materials spills. ERT also provides assistance in characterization and cleanup of hazardous waste sites, as well as personnel training.

The Environmental Response Team’s mission is to:

  • Support the nation's response, cleanup, and renewal of its contaminated land, water, and air.
  • Provide high-quality service and consultation to those requiring assistance around the world.
  • Promote the development of technology and procedures in relevant science and engineering areas.
  • Support EPA programs within the Office of Land and Emergency Management (OLEM).
  • Disseminate relevant environmental information.

The presentation will commence with a brief overview of the organization followed by five (5) focused support presentation. ERT has a wide-ranging set of services. The presentation below is meant to provide the audience a glimpse of ERT's capabilities.
