Description: This three-day comprehensive field and classroom-based course will provide participants with applied introduction to standard techniques for effluent and ambient water quality sampling and in-depth knowledge and skills required to design and develop a structured water quality monitoring program. Course participants will learn standard freshwater sampling quality assurance measures, as well as spend considerable time in field and lab-based sessions learning to operate various types of sampling equipment as well as completing and participating in a number of case studies and exercises to reinforce the principles introduced in the classroom. The case studies will uphold current British Columbia provincial and federal legislation and best management practices for monitoring program design.
