Detecting deception is never easy, but you can improve your chances by understanding the psychology of deceit. We will explore the latest, state-of-the-art research on deception in the behavioral sciences. We will discuss field cases from the EPA, FBI, and US Homeland Security. Our primary focus will be on nonverbal communication--on the involuntary physiological cues that give deceivers away. We will tour the verbal and nonverbal world of deception, and propose a method of Non-Confrontational Probing to get to the truth in field settings. Away
