The Remedy Selection for Groundwater Restoration course will focus on the remedy selection, remedial design, remedial action, and long-term response action (LTRA) phases of the Superfund process for sites where restoration of contaminated groundwater to drinking water cleanup levels is required. The course will review (1) technical aspects of characterization that impact remedy selection and implementation, (2) recent trends in remedy selection for groundwater, (3) site-specific short- and long-term metrics that drive data collection and monitoring necessary for determining the effectiveness of groundwater remedies during LTRA, and (4) optimization activities that can improve remedy performance. Groundwater case studies from Ohio will be used to supplement the concepts presented during the course.
Important Notice: Due to the content presented during a CEC course and the restrictions in place for non-citizens to enter federal buildings, international attendees are not permitted to attend CEC courses.
