National Historic Preservation Act Training for EPA Region 9 Staff

EPA is required to comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) whenever we perform or fund an action that may have the potential to impact historic and/or archeological resources. At EPA, compliance with Section 106 is generally triggered through Superfund remedial and removal projects, Brownfields projects, construction of drinking water projects, and in some instances, the issuance of NPDES and other permits.
