Air Emergency Response Toxic Gas Analyzer Workshop
Hosted by California Air Response Planning Alliance and South Coast Air Quality Management District

Offered by the California Air Response Planning Alliance, South Coast Air Quality Management District, and RAE Systems Incorporated.

This one-day course instructs participants in the practices and procedures for using toxic gas analyzers during emergencies. This workshop is designed for personnel who use or are interested in the capabilities of the Inficon Hapsite and RAE Systems AreaRAE monitors to evaluate toxic gas concentrations.

The course will cover operating procedures, instrumentation networking, and strategies for coordinated air monitoring. Instructional methods include a combination of lecture and hands-on demonstrations. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own instruments for the hands-on training session.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Proper instrument use for emergency response deployment
  • Hot zone vs. downwind monitoring
  • Instrument calibration, deployment, configuration and networking
  • Instrument sensors and parameters
  • Data transmission
  • Multiagency sampling coordination
  • Identify the operational limitations
  • Identify factors that affect instrument functionality

CARPA is also sponsoring E-BAM Particulate Monitor use for Air Emergency Response Training offered the previous day at the same location.
