Aquatic Ecosystems Training
GHYD-350
Hosted by Northwest Environmental Training Center

Wetlands are some of the world’s most biologically diverse ecosystems, and their existence enriches the wide variety of species that inhabit them as well as the towns and cities that are built nearby. Urban and commercial development, industrial expansion and the changing climate all pose significant threats to the highly valuable but sensitive ecosystems.

This course focuses on a having attendees come away with a solid  understanding aquatic ecosystems. Beginning with an introduction to wetlands, streams and lake, topics will include defining aquatic ecosystems, where they are located in the landscape, how they are defined and regulated by the government and how scientists categorize them.

Class time is divided between lecture and field work.
