This course is designed to train personnel in the roles and responsibilities of an Incident Commander in a Type 2 Incident Management Team. The course covers the Leadership, Mobilization, Incident Management, Administration, and Demobilization of a Type 2 IMT. This is accomplished through lectures and short exercises. A closed book test is administered at the conclusion of the class. A score of 70% is mandatory for successful completion of the course.
Target Group
This course is intended for U.S. EPA and U.S. Coast Guard personnel who have completed Incident Command System I-100, 200, 300, 400, IS-700b and IS-800c, level courses.
Objectives
After completing the course, participants will be able to:

Define and describe the role of the Incident Commander in managing complex extended all risk incidents

Describe the role of the Incident Commander in leading an Incident Management Team

Identify the Incident Management Team's role in using appropriate interpersonal communication skills and management principles necessary for effective and efficient incident management
