General Information
Event Name: What can you do? - Superfund decisions that consider community input and advance environmental justice: Examples and guidelines from the "Incorporating Community Input OSRTI" memo
Event Description:

This training will detail how the little decisions EPA makes can incorporate community input and advance environmental justice. We will provide examples for each member of a site team based on their role.

  • How community input, including environmental justice concerns, can inform EPA’s decisions during investigation and response selection;
  • What RPMs, Risk Assessors, CICs, and Site Attorneys (and managers) can do in their roles; and
  • Explaining how EPA responds to community or environmental justice concerns.

Participants will

  • get an update on the recent memo "Incorporating Community Input, Including Environmental Justice Considerations, Throughout CERCLA Investigations and Response Selection" (semspub.epa.gov/work/HQ/100003363.pdf)
  • discuss examples
  • participate in a Q&A session with the panelists.

This EPA-only training is intended for regional site teams including Community Involvement Coordinators (CICs), Remedial Project Managers (RPMs), Site Assessment Managers (SAMs), On-Scene Coordinators (OSCs), and other EPA staff supporting Superfund work. All EPA staff are welcome to participate.
