Planning and Implementing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Workshop)
Internet-based seminar
Hosted by U.S. EPA
Office of Superfund Remediation & Technology Innovation

The purpose of this course, developed and taught by a team of EPA RPMs, is to assist participants in planning for and implementing O&M activities at their sites. Many site examples and case studies are used to examine key issues related to O&M, including a special emphasis on O&M optimization. The participants will learn: (1) key regulatory and policy provisions and definitions pertinent to O&M; (2) how to properly plan for the O&M phase of a remedial action; (3) how to ensure a smooth transition from remedial action to O&M; (4) how to effectively and efficiently oversee O&M activities; (5) how to optimize and address operational problems that affect remedial actions; and (6) when to terminate O&M.
