Basic Overview of Superfund Online, a computer-based training course, provides an overview of the purpose, legal framework, and implementation of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). Throughout this interactive and easy-to-follow course, participants explore the activities performed under the Superfund program. The following modules make up the on-line course:

  • Overview of CERCLA
  • Statutory and Regulatory Framework
  • Discovery, Notification, and Initial Site Assessment
  • Removal Process
  • Remedial Process
  • Liability and Enforcement
  • Community Involvement
  • Federal Facilities

Note:  This online class does not take the place of the CERCLA Education Center's 3-day classroom Fundamentals of Superfund (offered as part of "Superfund 101") course, which is recommended for all new OSCs and RPMs to attend.

**This class is housed on the ERTPVU website (see link below). If you are a first-time user, click on "Register" and follow the instructions to set up a user name and password.
