The environment plays a critical role in control of a child’s asthma, and with over 7.1 million children affected by asthma (CDC, 2013), nurses must work together to reduce asthma related morbidity. Changes in the environment have likely caused the increased prevalence in childhood asthma, and in this presentation, participants will learn how to recognize, remediate and counsel caregivers and patients on the reduction of environmental contributions to pediatric asthma.
