ERT-OSRTI |
Event Description: |
The purpose of this workshop is to bring together all of the agencies within the Region who would respond to a bio-agent incident and be called upon to work within a unified command structure to Identify, Control and Eliminate the threats caused by one or more bio-agents at various locations and environmental settings.
It is our intention to give the participants a basic understanding of what it takes to respond to such an event by offering a short refresher on biological basics, identify the systems (Biowatch, BDS), that have been put in place to protect critical infrastructures, responders and the general public. We will discuss and identify best practices for use of critical laboratory space, safety, personal protection and the techniques used for decontamination of responders and physical structures and reflect back on our experiences responding to these events.
Throughout the presentations and especially during the round table sessions, we will center our discussions around: Notifications, Who will respond, Sample, Decontamination, Disposal and eventually to conduct the removal action to effectively and permanently eliminate the threats.
