Accessing Online Information on Exposure and Health Effects
Offered by NCEH/ATSDR, Office of Communications

In this one-day, hands-on course we will find, use, and manipulate the gold standards in online data resources for ATSDR/CDC professionals. We will also learn how to apply various search strategies to glean salient information through hands-on exercises to build confidence and familiarity with new and recently revamped resources. Recipients will be given handouts of Web sites used/visited for further reference, with contact information for questions and comments.

At the completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct online searches on environmental health exposure information.
  • List at least one internet site basic to human health, toxicology, environmental health, or news resources.
  • Demonstrate the ability to obtain online environmental health exposure information in preferred formats.
This training is designed for NCEH/ATSDR staff and NCEH/ATSDR partner staff who prepare public health products or conduct community involvement/health education/health intervention activities as part of the health assessment process.  Registration is now open to environmental public health professionals in local, county, state and federal agencies.
