Event Description: |
This course covers basic training requirements for the Food Unit Leader, Medical Unit Leader, Facilities Unit Leader, Ground Support Unit Leader, Supply Unit Leader, and Communications Unit Leader positions which exist within the Logistics Section. This course is also designed to meet the 16-hour training requirement for the Logistics Section Chief position on a Type 2 Incident Management Team.
Target Group
This course is intended for U.S. EPA and U.S. Coast Guard personnel who have successfully completed Incident Command System I-100, 200, 300, 400 level courses, IS-700b and IS-800c, and who have been identified to fulfill the position of Logistics Section Chief on an Incident Management Team. At a minimum, students should have completed Advanced ICS, I-400 training as a prerequisite.
Objectives
After completing the course, participants will have the necessary information to:

Arrive properly equipped at an incident, gather information to access the assignment, and begin initial planning activities of the Logistics Section Chief

Determine that facilities, services, and materials are provided for an incident

Plan, staff, and manage the logistics section to meet the needs of the incident in a safe and efficient manner

Coordinate with other sections to assist in accomplishing the overall objective of the incident

Implement the demobilization plan
